A National Industry Tournament  

What an incredible day and turnout! $50,000 was raised by the golfers and sponsors who took to Bearspaw Golf Club on Monday, September 16th to raise awareness and funds for energy insecurity in remote and Indigenous communities across Canada. 

As mentioned during the event, last year’s funds went towards initiatives at Energy for a Secure Future and the First Nation Power Authority to:

1. Help three First Nation communities in Saskatchewan articulate their challenges in a study that is proposing the value of electrification/gasification that will be instrumental in helping them obtain funding support for the energy security of their communities.
2. Establish a resolution to the Assembly of First Nations regarding energy security and indigenous reconciliation.
3. Develop a report and video series on energy insecurity/affordability across Canada based on interviews with First Nations leaders in BC, Alberta, and Ontario.

The report and video series will be released this Fall, and we look forward to sharing.
