Enserva supports an immigration system that strategically aligns with Canada’s economic needs. The current approach does not prioritize skilled trades or critical roles in the energy sector, despite clear and growing labour shortages but growing demand. Fewer than 60% of permanent immigrants are selected based on economic criteria, leaving key roles—such as Class 1 drivers, heavy equipment operators, and specialized trades—unfilled. Enserva calls for immigration reforms that target high-demand occupations, streamline credential recognition, and improve workforce integration to support long-term economic growth and energy security.
