In early June, Enserva organized its Spring Day on the Hill in Ottawa, engaging with federal policymakers and highlighting Canada’s energy services, supply, and manufacturing sector. We were grateful to be joined by representatives from Enserva members Tenaris and SLB, who had the opportunity to share the work of their companies first-hand with federal officials and politicians.
The delegation, drawing on years of experience and institutional knowledge, facilitated meaningful conversations, forged new relationships, and emphasized the industry’s importance as the country transitions to cleaner energy sources.
Some highlights from our trip
- Met with senior bureaucrats from key departments, including Finance Canada, Indigenous Services, ISED and Privy Council to tell the story of who Enserva members are and how they play a critical role in Canada’s economy. As energy policies are debated, the service sector’s voice needs to be represented in those decisions.
- Connected with Members of Parliament representing Grande Prairie-Mackenzie and Cypress Hills-Grasslands to ensure the Enserva story is well understood by our local federal representatives.
- Connected with officials from the Office of the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources to provide updates on Enserva programs like Working Energy, OnePath, and our RWL Toolkit, These efforts showcase the proactive steps our members are taking to support our industry and Canada’s economy.
- Visited the Indigenous People’s Space at 100 Wellington, which showcases contemporary Indigenous artefacts and artwork that represent Indigenous culture and society.
With Canadian Parliament now adjourned until the Fall, Enserva is looking forward to planning for our next member-driven Day on the Hill. Members interested in participating in future Days on the Hill can reach out to thides@enserva.ca.
