Mission: 

The Enserva Environment Social Governance (ESG) Council will provide Enserva Core members with a forum for the discussion of the ESG movement that may include frameworks, data, metrics, measures, benchmarks, and best practices, affecting the oilfield service, supply and manufacturing (OFS) sector and the oil and gas industry as a whole. The ESG Council will also seek to educate members and stakeholders and provide resources.

Objectives: 

  1. Examine current and emerging ESG areas of importance to the energy industry and the OFS sector in particular.

    Anticipate, monitor, and consider government policy, investor proclivity, and stakeholder interests, as well as trends relating to ESG affecting the sustainability of the OFS sector

  2. Facilitate discussion and sharing of industry best practices on ESG reporting standards and frameworks, including with customers / clients in the E&P industry.
  3. Identify ESG metrics / benchmarks / data beneficial to promote the OFS sector domestically and internationally.
  4. Develop and compile resources on ESG to educate Enserva members including tools to develop an ESG strategy, program and disclosure mechanisms.
  5. Provide pathways and/or playbook recommendations to members along with ongoing updates as this ESG field evolves, and aligned with the needs of our customers / clients / stakeholders in the E&P industry.
  6. Advocate for the OFS sector with government and other stakeholders in positioning Canadian OFS sector as a leader in ESG by communicating ESG achievements, milestones, and records.
  7. Act as a unified industry voice in communicating OFS ESG information to relevant groups.


Structure

The Council will consist of a Steering Council and three Working Groups – one each for Environment, Social, and Governance aspects that will report back to the Council.

ESG Council

The ESG Council will meet quarterly or as needed to review progress and approve recommendations and goals.

Steering Council

The Steering Council will meet as needed to review progress and input from working groups and align efforts. The Steering Council will review and approve working group recommendations to take forward to the ESG Council.

The Steering Council will establish subsequent working groups as required to carry on additional initiatives resulting from the recommendations.

Environment Working Group

The working group will:
• Identify key environmental metrics and benchmarks for OFS
• Develop recommendations / materials that respond to the above priorities

Social Working Group

The working group will:
• Identify key social metrics and benchmarks for OFS
• Develop recommendations / materials that respond to the above priorities

Governance Working Group

The working group will:
• Identify key governance metrics and benchmarks for OFS
• Develop recommendations / materials that respond to the above priorities
