PSAC is a proud supporter of STARS through the PSAC STARS & Spurs 50/50 raffle

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

One lucky Albertan will win a minimum of $200K
CALGARY, AB (May 12, 2021) – The Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) is proud to continue our partnership with the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) by supporting the promotion of the PSAC STARS & Spurs 50/50 raffle, presented by Precision Drilling.

This raffle, launched on May 10, 2021, has a guaranteed minimum prize of $200K (up to a jackpot of $1 million). Tickets are available at starsandspurs5050.ca until June 8, 2021.

The raffle is the second of three innovative events in this year of physical distancing for PSAC’s 27th annual STARS & SPURS Gala campaign, bringing total funds raised since inception to more than $17 million for STARS. This is the longest-running and largest fundraiser in Alberta on behalf of STARS. The Safe@Home event, held in February, raised a remarkable $450,000. A third event, a Live Industry Auction, will be held in June.

Dave McHattie, Chair of the PSAC STARS Gala Committee, Vice Chair of PSAC, and Vice President Institutional Relations for Tenaris Canada, said, “the ‘essential Canadian values’ theme this year is more relevant than ever. Supporting local Canadian service, supply and manufacturing sustains our economy. Supporting STARS essential service illustrates the value PSAC members place on safety and medical response for our industry, our communities, and our employees. This 50/50 is an opportunity for supporters of these essential values to contribute to the PSAC STARS and Spurs Gala campaign.”

“PSAC is proud to continue our support for STARS and of the tremendous generosity of the oil and gas sector and its sponsors for this essential service. Our community spirit and our shared values for safety are clear with the incredible funds raised through PSAC’s annual galas. We look forward to another successful event with the 50/50 raffle to reach our goal of $1 million for STARS this year,” said Elizabeth Aquin, Interim President and CEO of PSAC.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our 27-year partnership with PSAC and its members,” said Andrea Robertson, president and CEO of STARS. “This past year has been challenging and to see this organization continue to find unique and innovative ways to support our mission is truly touching. We’ve always been able to count on Albertans for support and we think they are going to have a lot of fun participating in this raffle for STARS.”

PSAC is pleased to support STARS so that it remains mission ready at all six bases across Western Canada as STARS fights for life! In 2021, PSAC will help to ensure STARS can be there for the next patient in need.

We look forward to your support to help sell out this raffle in support of STARS. Individuals located in Alberta and over 18 years of age are encouraged to purchase their online raffle ticket at starsandspurs5050.ca.
